~*~ Hi, welcome to my art ~*~

"Art is a song for my soul!

I am truly passionate about capturing the expression and likeness of nature through my art, that transcends to you, the viewer!

My Art Journey...

Ever since I was a young girl, I wanted to draw. I can remember the first time I was given my first set of crayons and colouring books, I couldn't wait to try all those exciting hues of colours to create stories with, which led me to learning how to draw things on my own. My 'self taught' attempts at drawing were of a mast sailing ship, Black Beauty and nature related things copying from books and practising.  I was so excited  with all the details I could put into my drawings, making them 'come alive', I wanted to do more!  This began my art journey into studying all I could about different mediums, techniques and enjoying realism because I wanted to capture that moment in time, to be remembered for a lifetime, details and all!

I am still a self taught artist, and have learned a wealth of art related things along my art journey, that I would never have learned in any kind of art class, and I'm proud to say that I'm an award winning and published artist.  Everything I've learned and continue to learn, has been with discipline, dedication and passion to want to be the best I can be at what I love to do. Whenever I begin a drawing or painting, I have already connected emotionally to my subject,  which in turn keeps the momentum going throughout the whole process, to completion and with great satisfaction.

I am truly grateful for the amazing support of my wonderful fellow artist friends throughout the world, my clients, and of course the undying love and support of my family and close friends.  I am so fortunate to have such a beautiful array of subjects to reference from, in the stunning New Zealand, where I have lived for the past ten years now with my family, and of coursefrom the amazing photographer friends that I have access to, that allow me to use their beautiful photos to draw from.

Approach to my art...

I use only the finest professional artist materials to work with, which help me to render my work to the highest quality. I also having a great relationship with my framer who understands that maintaining a high quality, in regards to the treatment of how my art is presented to my clients, is essential in the framing process.

With my love and enthusiasm for nature and beauty, I approach my artwork with passion and excitement, rendering realistic vision to my subject at hand, which will often evoke an emotional, empathetic or sentimental feeling from my viewers.  The style and technique I enjoy is realism, to create what I see in nature, which I've developed over many years through careful observation techniques, day to day practise and most importantly, passion!  I work with the mediums of; graphite, coloured pencils, pastels and my newest medium, oils.
